in the days when they were nights
I would burn just like a firefly
As the god of war, Arivian is what one may expect. Hotheaded, short-tempered, reckless and smarmy Ari is as much like his domain as the other gods are like theirs. He hates sitting still and he's always doing something; fiddling with something in his hands, tapping his foot, crossing and uncrossing his fingers. He cannot be expected to sit and stay anywhere, no matter who tells him to. When he attends the huge god meetings Zefiryn insists on he always brings something to keep himself occupied or sits by a god that may distract him. He's fairly thoughtless and incredibly instinctive; he says what's on his mind without thinking twice about his audience and obeys his own whims without second thought. It's very easy to provoke Ari and even easier to rouse him to yelling. His temper burns hot but quick; he keeps grudges in a more methodical fashion than in a genuinely angry way. He won't forget someone who has slighted him but he won't harbor any real fury towards them for more than a day. He rushes into anything that he thinks sounds cool. He is technically the youngest New God, a fact that none of the other gods who resent his attitude will ever let him forget.
Ari finds humans fascinating and spends a great deal of time submerged in their populations. He probably has the most exposure to them out of all of the gods and he passes extremely well. Unlike the other gods he keeps up with the changing diction; he speaks the various mortal languages easily and without hesitation and over the years he's found a way to minimize the pressure of his presence so humans can no longer recognize him as something 'other'. Ari is fairly isolated from the other gods; when he's not with people he favors submerging himself in active war zones and although other gods can survive such places few genuinely like it. He rarely visits the god plane though he doesn't mind it when he does. Inquisitive by nature Ari likes sticking his nose in any business that interests him. He gets snappish if someone tries to dissuade him off of something. He's defensive over things he considers his. He's charming in a way most people can only describe as 'begrudgingly', like people just can't help but like him. Ari is blunt and rarely lies over anything, even at a time when it may be kinder to. He loves to fight and draw blood and conquer. He can be exhausting to the other gods when he's in a mood because he wafts an uncomfortable, skin-prickling aura when he's upset.
