all the things that fly by me
all the lives that I could lead
Illisha has been tired his entire life. He's called godtouched, for he can eavesdrop on the gods; but he doesn't particularly enjoy this ability, and frankly he wishes most days that he could turn it off. Gods are loud and rude and have no concept of manners, and so Illisha frequently drifts out of conversation without a moment's notice when a god hails his attention. He comes off as very absentminded and forgetful, but it's mostly because the gods are burning through his mind with their constant talking. He does honestly forget a great deal of things, and must be constantly reminded of such stuff by his brothers. He is rarely roused to any display of emotion; he is mostly too tired to deal with it, and consequently also seems a little selfish. It's hard for him to sympathize with anybody that isn't one of his brothers, and it shows in his relations to the common people. He wasn't made for this job, like some of his brothers were. Talking to strangers gives him no joy, and while he isn't shy he just usually doesn't want to be bothered.
His brothers have gotten used to his frequent checking out, and correct him when they need to, or tell him what he's missed when he tunes back in to the mortal realm. Illisha rarely seems like he's listening, but he's gotten better at balancing the conversation that's happening around him and the one that's happening in his head. Over the year Illisha and his brothers have learned that the gods lie to him sometimes; that there are a few rare voices that do not, but that the majority of them seek to use Illisha to their own betterment, and will tell him whatever they need to to manipulate him to their desire. To that point, they mostly listen to Zezili's visions, if it concerns them at all. Illisha does keep an ear out for those few he knows do not lie, but the voices speak over one another a lot. Sometimes they ask him to pass along messages, which he largely ignores. Illisha had become snappish over the years, the more the deities have spoken to him. Of the two birds that accompany the Fates Illisha is closest to Huginn, and she can usually by found at his shoulder. She is tired like them, inclined to naps and long periods of rest.
