how deeply are you sleeping or are you still awake?
a good friend told me you've been staying out so late
Blackbird was called to reap Kisosen, Saranyu and Malakbel a few years back. She hesitated when she saw the way the boys interacted with the numerous ghosts that surrounded them; mortals infrequently sensed ghosts at all, let alone showed the ability to hear and speak with them. The only compromise to not reaping them was taking them as her own and so Blackbird walked away with three apprentices in tow. The four of them now live in the desert in the interior of Najaati, where it's always been assumed that people could not survive. All three of the brothers have chunky silver rings that Blackbird infused with bits of her godhood so they could god-step with her; travel anywhere in the world instantaneously and survive the trip. They go wherever the ghosts are the loudest and help to bring them peace so they can move on. Kisosen is the oldest brother, but he's only a year older than Saranyu and two years older than Bel so he doesn't act like one might imagine. He's protective over his brothers but not unusually so; he's not interested in being in control over them and he doesn't have a dominant personality at all. He's more of a go with the flow type and is happy to defer to either of them in any situation.
Out of the three brothers Kisosen is definitely the least likely to cause a stir. He's extremely lazy; laidback and easygoing, Kiso cannot be roused to a temper or a hurry or anything else. He doesn't care about being late to anything and he's entirely apologetic to 90% of the people he meets. While all three of the brothers can see and speak with ghosts Kiso detects them the clearest and the ghosts are frequently more drawn to him over his siblings. His brain chemistry is off-balance - he doesn't have a traditional fear response and his pain receptors are extremely weak. Unsurprisingly due to this he's very reckless and careless because he never learned pain as a consequence to foolish actions. He's smart but too lazy to really apply himself to anything. He prefers big comfortable clothes over anything actually cute. His faulty fear response makes him a reliable asset in an emergency because he keeps a clear head no matter what's going on but it can be frustrating for people who are scared or anxious. He can't really empathize with either; he can be gentle and quiet when someone is overwhelmed but he's usually unable to help, given that he's never actually experienced either emotion in his life. His minimized pain receptors mean he hurts himself on accident quite frequently and doesn't notice unless there's blood.

be careful, oh, my darling, oh, be careful what it takes
from what I've seen so far, the good ones always seem to break
