you have a mind to keep me quiet
and although you can try
Jericho Jacks is not the brightest sword in the armory but she gets it done. At six foot ten inches tall she's intimidating as hell - and she's muscular enough to put off most people looking to start a fight. She's largely unaware of her own strength; she tries to be a gentle giant but she has a terrible habit of patting people's shoulders or backs and nearly knocking them off their feet. She's worked with a sword since she was a little girl and her hands are more comfortable around a hilt than anywhere else. She has big callouses on her hands and thick fingers but she tries to be soft when she touches people. (She just gets a little overexcited, sometimes, especially when she's congratulating someone on a job well done.) She is not book smart or really even common sense smart; but she's wicked in a fight and her intentions are always pure no matter what she's doing. She would never purposefully hurt someone she didn't believe deserved it. However, Jericho has no issue with killing folks who do deserve it and for the most part she travels around dispensing justice in a fairly violent way. She's very protective over people she perceives as being weaker than her and likes getting justice on someone else's behalf.
She really has a terrible habit of trying to save everyone she meets, which can be frustrating to any traveling companions. She also holds herself to far too high standards; she expects herself to be able to save everyone she meets, even impossible cases. She gets frustrated with herself when she loses someone, no matter that there would've been no other way for her to save them. She is very selfless and remains forcefully optimistic about life but she never forgets the people she couldn't save. Jericho has a weight to her eyes that most people notice but an easy smile that takes away a little of the strain. She has a deep, melodic voice that's rarely in a hurry. She's a precise speaker so she doesn't bumble or stutter but that doesn't stop her from sticking her foot in her mouth when she says something careless. Jericho is accompanied by a crowned eagle named Atlas who has been her companion for some years now. Atlas is a big bird; he usually rides on Jericho's broad shoulder while they're traveling though it's not uncommon for him to disappear into the woods for a few hours. Jericho talks to him a lot and loves him fiercely. He was a gift from her father when she first set out on the road.
